A New Marketplace for Central Europe
Why we are building Torgio in Bratislava, and what "editorial" means for a classifieds site.
For two decades the regional classifieds scene has stood still. Bazoš, Sbazar, AVizo — useful, free, and unchanged since the broadband era. The interfaces still feel like they were drawn on graph paper. Listings drown in noise. Trust is a coin-flip.
We started Torgio because the next twenty years deserve better than the last. Better tools for sellers. A safer experience for buyers. And, frankly, a marketplace that does not look like a relic.
What "editorial" means here
Most marketplaces optimise one thing: throughput. More listings, more clicks, more SMS upgrades. The page becomes a feed and the feed becomes a slot machine.
We are taking a slower path. Each category is curated. Featured listings are picked, not auctioned. Long-form guides — how to value a used camera, how to read a flat listing in Petržalka, how to buy a winter tire set — sit alongside the inventory. Hence the name of this section: Editorial.
A marketplace is a publication with a checkout button.
What ships next
- Reviews v2 — verified buyer signal, dispute window, written rebuttals.
- Editorial Prime — a paid tier for serious sellers with priority placement on category pages and per-listing analytics.
- Saved searches with weekly digest emails.
- Shipment integrations with Packeta and SPS, in that order.
We will write here whenever something meaningful ships, breaks, or changes. No growth-hacking newsletters, no listicles. Just notes from the workshop.
